Role Overview

We are looking for a highly driven and analytical Strategic Procurement Purchase Engineer with 5–7 years of experience in handling key manufacturing commodities such as Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining. The role demands strong expertise in zero-based costing (ZBC), supplier negotiations, and deep process knowledge to drive cost optimization and value engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
  • Lead sourcing strategies for Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining commodities.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard capable suppliers aligned with business objectives.
  • Drive long-term supplier partnerships and develop alternate sourcing strategies.
Costing & Value Engineering
  • Perform zero-based costing (ZBC) for various components and assemblies.
  • Analyze supplier quotations and validate cost structures (RM, process cost, overheads, margins).
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through value engineering (VE) and design-to-cost approaches.
Supplier Management
  • Conduct supplier negotiations ensuring cost competitiveness, quality, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor supplier performance (QCD – Quality, Cost, Delivery) and drive improvements.
  • Support supplier development initiatives and capability enhancement.
Technical & Process Understanding

Apply strong knowledge of manufacturing processes:
  • Die Casting (HPDC / LPDC / GDC)
  • Sheet Metal (stamping / Laser fabrication)
  • Machining (CNC, VMC, turning, milling)
• Evaluate manufacturing feasibility and recommend process improvements.

Commercial & Contract Management
  • Ensure alignment of pricing with contracts and commercial terms.
  • Manage RFQs, techno-commercial discussions, and finalization of orders.
  • Monitor market trends (raw materials, commodity fluctuations) impacting pricing.
Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with design, engineering, quality, and SCM teams for seamless execution.
• Support new product development (NPD) with cost-effective sourcing solutions.

Candidate Profile : 
  • 5 to 7 years experience with B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong expertise in Zero-Based Costing (ZBC)
  • In-depth knowledge of Die Casting, Sheet Metal, and Machining processes
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
  • Ability to break down and validate cost structures
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Proficiency in SAP, MS Office
  • Good understanding of engineering drawings
Preferred Attributes

  • Exposure to automotive, industrial, or heavy engineering sectors
  • Experience in handling complex assemblies and multi-level BOM costing.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing practices
