Job description

Who You'll Work With

You'll join the Nike Marketing Technology platforms engineering team driving Nike's global Digital Asset Management and content activation systems. The team works at the intersection of platform engineering, AI-driven workflows, and large-scale distributed systems, partnering with product, marketing, and global operations teams.

Who We Are Looking For

As a Software Engineer III, you are a strong technical contributor with ownership across services and platform components. You design and build scalable, resilient systems while guiding best practices in architecture, testing, and performance. You collaborate closely with product and engineering stakeholders, helping translate ambiguous business requirements into robust technical solutions. You play a key role in driving engineering quality through design reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and improving development practices. You are comfortable working in complex distributed systems and have hands-on experience with cloud-native architectures. You are also curious about emerging technologies such as GenAI and actively explore how they can enhance platform capabilities and developer productivity. In addition to the requirements described above, successful candidates will exhibit the following:

  • 5–7 years of experience building scalable distributed systems

  • Strong expertise in Java/Spring Boot and microservices architecture

  • Experience designing APIs and working with event-driven systems

  • Proficiency in React and modern frontend development

  • Hands-on experience with AWS/cloud-native services and DevOps practices

What You'll Work On

You will lead the development of key platform capabilities enabling scalable, AI-driven Digital Asset Management and content planning across global markets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and developing scalable platform services for Digital Asset Management

  • Driving architecture decisions and contributing to system design reviews

  • Improving non-functional aspects like performance, observability, and reliability

  • Leading code reviews and mentoring junior engineers

  • Collaborating across teams to enable seamless platform integrations

  • Driving adoption of modern engineering practices including AI-assisted development

  • Troubleshooting production issues and ensuring operational excellence
