Overview

As a Senior ROR Developer, you will play a pivotal role in our development team, leading the design, development and maintenance of efficient, reusable and reliable Ruby code. You will be involved in all stages of the software development lifecycle including front-end and back-end development, database management, testing and deployment. Your expertise will be crucial in mentoring junior developers and ensuring the delivery of high-quality applications.

Responsibilities

Write clean, maintainable and efficient code using Ruby on Rails, adhering to best practices and coding standards. Collaborate closely with designers, product managers and other developers to architect and maintain robust web applications. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Lead code reviews, offering and receiving constructive feedback to enhance overall code quality and team productivity. Write, maintain and optimize tests to ensure the reliability and performance of applications; identify and resolve bugs and performance issues. Manage data storage, retrieval and updates in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL), ensuring data integrity and performance. Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation to support ongoing development and knowledge sharing within the team. Stay abreast of the latest technologies, frameworks and methodologies relevant to Ruby on Rails development and apply this knowledge to improve existing systems. Lead efforts in deployment, maintenance and monitoring of applications ensuring they are scalable and secure.

Requirements

2.6 to 6 years of professional experience in Ruby on Rails development. Strong command of Ruby and Ruby on Rails with a deep understanding of its best practices and conventions. Familiarity with front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 with experience in integrating these with Rails applications. Hands-on experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite. Proficient in using version control systems particularly Git. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to debug complex issues and optimize code for performance. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

BE/ME/B.Tech/M.Tech (CS/IT)/MCA or equivalent
