Overall Responsibility
Lead the execution of the complete Water Solutions and Water Treatment scope for power generation projects, with a strong understanding of gas-fired power plants.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the design and execution of water treatment packages and interdisciplinary engineering coordination.
- Develop and review P&IDs, PFDs, process design calculations, arrangement drawings, system descriptions, specifications, and vendor engineering documents for:
- Water Pretreatment Plants
- Demineralization (DM) Plants
- Condensate Polishing Plants (CPP)
- Steam-Water Cycle and Cooling Water Chemical Dosing Systems
- Steam and Water Analysis Systems (SWAS)
- Electrochlorination Systems
- Laboratory Systems
- Evaluate supplier proposals from both technical and commercial perspectives, conduct negotiations, and initiate purchase requisitions/orders.
- Review and approve vendor engineering documentation, including Level 3 schedules, P&IDs, equipment layouts, system descriptions, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP), Factory Quality Plans (FQP), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and equipment datasheets.
- Prepare signal exchange lists and electrical load lists.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, both onshore and offshore, to ensure timely and accurate project execution.
- Participate in HAZOP studies, design reviews, and design-freeze meetings, ensuring timely closure of all action items.
- Interface with clients, consultants, and vendors to resolve design and technical issues.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for water treatment and related systems.
- Manage technical and commercial claims with vendors and clients.
- Prepare installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance (O&M) manuals.
- Provide engineering support during site erection, commissioning, and startup activities.
- Drive closure of site List of Open Points (LOPs) related to engineering issues.
- Support warranty-phase activities and ensure timely resolution of outstanding LOPs.
Preferred Profile
- B.E. / B. Tech/ M. Tech. in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering with 8-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in water treatment systems for thermal and gas-fired power plants including Water steam and Cooling water cycles.
- Strong knowledge of process engineering, vendor management, and interdisciplinary coordination.
- Knowledge of various softwares e.g. RO projections, UF projections used in Water industry
- Experience with commissioning, troubleshooting, and client-facing project execution activities.
- Familiarity with international standards and EPC project environments is preferred.
