Machine & Equipment Engineer

Job Summary:  
This role is part of the Special Purpose Machine (SPM) function at Kalwa, which is segmented into three core sub-functions: Mechanical, Electrical OT (Operational technology/OT), and Manufacturing IT. Each sub-function has its respective leaders reporting to SPM head position. The position is specifically responsible for development and deployment of Operational Technology (OT) software, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming, Cobot, LabVIEW as SPM function. This role will be reporting to OT team leader within SPM function.  

Key Responsibilities:  
Operational Technology with Electrical Engineering:  
· Align with design and development of electrical systems using EPLAN, including panel manufacturing (in-house or outsourced), BOM review, execution.  
· Involve in development and deployment of Operational Technology (OT) software, including PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming. LabVIEW, Cobot programming for the projects within SPM.  
· Drive standardization across Electrical Panel design & wiring alongside OT programming for increased efficiency and quality.  
· Involvement to ensure projects performance in view of Timelines, Budget & Quality standards from Electrical principles & OT perspective.  

Qualifications and Experience:  
· Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, EXTC, or a related engineering field.  
· Minimum 12 years of experience in Machine Building and Operational Technology (OT) systems within the manufacturing industry. Hands on experience on
Electrical design (Eplan), Panel layout, Execution of electrical projects.  
· Operational Knowledge of automation technologies including PLC/HMI, SCADA, robotics, machine vision, motion control. 
· Hands-on experience with Siemens OT automation components such as S7-1200 and S7-1500 CPUs, HMI, and SCADA systems.  
· Experience in integrating third-party automation hardware like servo motors, valve banks, power sources, oscilloscopes, and other industrial equipment.  
· Knowledge of collaborative robot (Cobot) programming, with Know-how in system integration for applications such as assembly and material handling.  
· Practical understanding of industrial communication protocols including TCP/IP, PROFINET, PROFIBUS, RS-232, and others.  
· Experience in integrating custom solutions like label printing systems, laser marking machines, and third-party device interfaces.  
· Knowledge in handling network architecture related to IT-OT integration, platforms required for integrating machines with IT network like OPC UA, Node-RED.  
· Practical experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, including a wide range of valves and motion control systems such as Siemens and Festo, combined with troubleshooting skills.
