Datadog AIOPS – Job Description

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Datadog AIOPS responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of DataDog AIOps deployments, including installation, configuration, integration, maintenance, and upgrades. The role requires a proactive approach to identifying use cases, implementing best practices, and ensuring maximum value realization from the platform.

The candidate should possess strong troubleshooting capabilities, the ability to work across cross-functional teams, and ensure smooth operations aligned with defined ITOps success criteria.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, configure, integrate, and manage DataDog Event Management solutions.
  • Support the full lifecycle of DataDog AIOps implementation and optimization.
  • Identify use cases and recommend best practices to enhance platform value.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently across environments.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure stable and efficient operation of monitoring and event management systems.

Technical Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong experience in DataDog implementation, integration, and development.
  • Integration expertise with monitoring tools using SNMP, Socket, REST APIs, Logs, and DataDog connectors.
  • Experience in bi-directional integration with ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow).
  • Solid understanding of DataDog administration and system operations.
  • Knowledge of other event management tools like IBM Netcool, Micro Focus OMi (preferred).
  • Proficiency in Unix/Linux commands and system operations.
  • Programming knowledge in Java, Node.js, and JavaScript.
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure (Hardware, OS – RHEL/CentOS/Windows, Networking).
  • Experience with event monitoring, alerting, threshold management.
  • Knowledge of topology mapping, CMDB, and application/infrastructure relationships.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication (written & verbal).
  • Solution-oriented mindset with problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet delivery timelines.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in DataDog lifecycle (implementation, integration, support).
  • 6–8 years of overall experience in enterprise monitoring and event management tools.
  • ITIL certification or strong understanding of ITIL event management processes preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project).
