Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day 
The Engineer / Senior Engineer – Steam Turbine Service Engineering will be responsible for interpreting technical requirements and preparing accurate Bills of Materials for spare-parts orders, control upgrades orders, modification orders within the steam turbine service business. The role will provide engineering support throughout customer-order execution and work closely with Order Management, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Field Service, and Proposal teams.
The position requires a sound understanding of steam turbine components, engineering drawings, BOM structures, manufacturing requirements, and CAD tools

How You'll Make an Impact (Component Engineer, Steam Turbine Service Engineering, TI STG, India)
  • Interpret customer requirements, technical specifications, equipment history, and engineering drawings for steam turbine spare-parts orders.
  • Create, review, and maintain accurate Bills of Materials for steam turbine service orders.
  • Identify the correct components, materials, quantities, specifications, and applicable drawing revisions for customer orders.
  • Provide technical support to the Field Service team during inspection, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and site execution activities.
  • Resolve technical queries related to BOMs, drawings, materials, dimensions, interfaces, and component applicability during order execution.
  • Review existing drawings and BOMs to identify missing, incorrect, or obsolete technical information.
  • Coordinate closely with Order Management, Sales, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Field Service teams to ensure timely and technically correct order execution.
  • Support the Sales and Proposal teams with technical inputs for steam turbine modifications, modernization projects, and control-system upgrades.
  • Assess technical requirements for turbine modifications and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
  • Prepare or update component drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, and technical documentation using CAD software.
  • Support the identification of replacement solutions for obsolete or unavailable components.
  • Participate in technical reviews and contribute to resolving engineering and supply-chain-related issues.
  • Ensure that engineering deliverables comply with applicable internal procedures, customer requirements, quality standards, and engineering practices.
  • Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and traceability of BOMs, drawings, technical clarifications, and engineering changes.
  • Contribute to standardization, knowledge sharing, lessons learned, and continuous improvement within the service engineering function.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Relevant 8-12 years experience in steam turbines, rotating equipment, power-generation equipment.
  • Experience in preparing, interpreting, and reviewing engineering BOMs and technical drawings.
  • Working knowledge of steam turbine components, assemblies, materials, manufacturing processes, and maintenance practices.
  • Sound knowledge of CAD software such as:
              o Siemens NX
              o Creo
              o AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with engineering change management, drawing revision control, and technical document management.
  • Experience working with ERP or product lifecycle management systems is preferred
