Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer – Protection & Automation to support testing, commissioning, configuration and troubleshooting of protection and control systems for medium- and high-voltage applications.
The role involves working on Control & Relay Panels, Protection IEDs, communication protocols, SCADA integration and protection schemes, along with customer coordination and site commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities
- Testing and commissioning of Control & Relay Panels (CRP) up to 765 kV.
- Testing and commissioning of Protection Relays and Protection Schemes for MV and HV applications, including:
- Feeder protection
- Transformer protection
- Distance protection
- Generator protection
- Line differential protection
- Busbar protection
- Configuration and testing of communication protocols such as: Modbus, DNP3.0, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-103 etc
- Creation and configuration of Datasets, RCBs and signal tagging.
- Configuration, parametrization, commissioning and integration of Protection IEDs with SCADA systems.
- Perform interoperability and integration testing of Protection IEDs.
- Hands-on testing using secondary injection test equipment such as: OMICRON, DOBLE, PONOVO, ISA etc
- Perform automated testing using methods/tools such as OCC, State Sequencing, Distance and Differential Characteristic Testing.
- Carry out retrofitting and troubleshooting of Protection IEDs and replacement of Control & Relay Panels.
- Provide technical support and training to customers and internal teams.
- Ensure timely resolution of technical issues during commissioning and site activities.
Project & Commercial Responsibilities
- Support project planning, scheduling and budgeting.
- Participate in cost estimation, financial management and reporting.
- Support contract management, negotiation and dispute resolution.
- Manage project-related risks and quality requirements.
- Support monthly turnover planning and billing.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project execution and completion.
Additional / Preferred Skills
· Experience with Protection & Control equipment and solutions from manufacturers such as: Alstom, SEL, GE, ABB, NR, SIFANG
- Knowledge of Process Bus Technology.
- Basic knowledge of industrial networking and communication protocols.

Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical / Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant hands-on experience in protection, testing, commissioning or substation automation.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with approximately 40–60% travel as required by the role.
