Celonis Data Engineer

As a Celonis Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, building, and optimizing data extraction pipelines and process mining models. This role requires deep technical expertise in Celonis ETL capabilities and a strong understanding of business processes to translate requirements into robust data solutions. You will lead technical teams, resolve blockers, and drive process improvement initiatives using advanced analytics and modeling. Your contributions will directly impact business growth by identifying inefficiencies and recommending strategic improvements.

Responsibilities

• Design and communicate technical architecture solutions based on customer requirements and data volumes for successful Process Mining deployments
• Assist customers in establishing secure connections between on-premises source systems and Process Mining cloud environments
• Build accurate, robust, and informative Business Process Mining models that support business growth
• Set up data extraction pipelines using both out-of-the-box and custom connectors
• Optimize the performance of data pipelines and analyze process data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements
• Lead technical teams of Data Engineers and Analysts, allocating work and resolving blockers
• Apply analytics and modeling to actively drive process improvement projects and initiatives
• Maintain expert knowledge on the Process Mining platform by drafting documentation on technical procedures and processes
• Lead discussions on operationalization of Process Mining through Action Flows, Action Views, and Machine Learning capabilities
• Serve as a liaison for data engineers, analytics platforms, and business users, supporting ongoing transitions

Requirements

• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Data Engineer/analytics roles
• Strong experience working with SQL and relational databases, including query authoring
• Deep technical expertise and implementation execution on best practices of process mining
• Strong working knowledge of Celonis ETL capabilities: Extraction, SQL Transformations, Data Pools, and Data Jobs
• Experience in optimizing the performance of data pipelines
• Ability to communicate directly with business stakeholders and other vendor teams to identify success factors for Process Mining tool implementations
• Well-versed with the latest AI capabilities for Process Mining in Celonis
• Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
• Strong skills in industry-standard tools/platforms for data analytics and visualization such as R, SQL, Tableau, Qlik, or comparable tools
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field is preferred
