Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ansible Developer with strong expertise in Infrastructure and Data Centre Automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, managing, and continuously enhancing automation solutions that streamline IT operations, improve service delivery, increase operational efficiency, and reduce manual effort across server, network, cloud, and infrastructure environments.

The role requires deep technical expertise in Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Ansible Tower, and AWX, along with a strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, automation frameworks, and operational best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade automation solutions using Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Ansible Tower, and AWX.
• Develop and manage Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Collections, and Inventories to automate infrastructure and operational processes.
• Automate server provisioning, operating system configuration, patch management, compliance validation, and routine infrastructure tasks.
• Build, upgrade, administer, maintain, and provide production support for Ansible Automation Platform/Tower environments.
• Design, implement, and manage AWX infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, security, and seamless integration with enterprise systems.
• Create and maintain AWX job templates, workflows, credentials, inventories, and execution environments.
• Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Networking, Security, Cloud, and Operations teams to identify and implement automation opportunities.
• Integrate Ansible solutions with enterprise applications, platforms, and third-party tools using REST APIs and other integration mechanisms.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, standards, and best practices to enable scalable automation adoption.
• Troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance existing automation workflows to improve performance and reliability.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, deployment activities, and automation governance processes.
• Ensure automation solutions comply with organizational security, compliance, and operational standards.
• Maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), knowledge articles, and operational runbooks.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to increase automation coverage and operational efficiency.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

Automation & Configuration Management

• Strong hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP), Ansible Tower, and AWX.
• Proven experience in developing and managing Ansible Playbooks, Roles, Collections, and Job Templates.
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure automation, configuration management, and orchestration.

Infrastructure & Operations

• Strong experience in Linux Administration within enterprise environments.
• Good understanding of Data Centre Operations, infrastructure management, and platform administration.
• Experience automating operational processes across server, network, storage, and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including:
• Incident Management
• Problem Management
• Change Management
• Service Request Management

Scripting & Development

• Strong scripting and automation skills using Python and/or PowerShell & YML.
• Experience developing automation integrations using REST APIs and web services.
• Experience working with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Azure Repos for version control and CI/CD workflows.

Cloud & Platforms

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience integrating automation solutions within hybrid and cloud infrastructure environments.

Database Knowledge

• Experience working with relational databases such as:
• PostgreSQL
• MariaDB
• MySQL
• Oracle
• Exposure to NoSQL databases such as:
• MongoDB
• Redis
• HBase

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation or equivalent Ansible certification.
• Experience with enterprise automation governance and compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
