JOB PURPOSE

PHINIA is seeking a SAP Operations Analyst to support the sustainment (operations), service excellence, and continuous improvement of PHINIA is seeking an experienced SAP Operations Analyst - ABAP & Integrations to support the technical sustainment, enhancement delivery, integration management, and continuous improvement of PHINIA's global SAP landscape. This role will serve as the technical focal point for SAP custom developments, interfaces, integrations, technical design governance, and S/4HANA transformation initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, functional teams, AMS providers, and implementation partners to design, review, estimate, and govern SAP technical solutions while ensuring alignment with SAP best practices, enterprise architecture standards, performance requirements, and operational excellence.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

SAP Development & Technical Design

  • Design, develop, and support SAP custom objects using ABAP on HANA technologies.
  • Review and govern technical specifications, development standards, and coding best practices.
  • Perform technical design reviews, code reviews, and quality assurance for SAP enhancements.
  • Drive adherence to SAP clean-core principles and S/4HANA extensibility frameworks.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues across SAP applications and custom developments.

SAP Integrations & Interfaces

  • Support and govern SAP integrations involving:
    • IDocs
    • EDI
    • SAP CPI
    • SAP PI/PO
    • APIs and Web Services
    • Middleware platforms
  • Monitor interface performance, data integrity, and integration reliability.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to identify integration optimization opportunities.
  • Coordinate issue resolution across internal teams, AMS providers, and third-party vendors.

Enhancement Delivery & Vendor Governance

  • Assess business requirements and provide high-level technical solution recommendations.
  • Review enhancement estimates provided by AMS and implementation partners.
  • Challenge technical assumptions and ensure delivery effort estimates are realistic and optimized.
  • Track enhancement execution and ensure adherence to quality, timeline, and budget expectations.
  • Govern external SAP development partners and technical vendors.

SAP S/4HANA Technical Architecture

  • Contribute to SAP S/4HANA transformation initiatives and technical modernization programs.
  • Support technical architecture decisions related to:
    • Custom code remediation
    • S/4HANA conversion readiness
    • Integration architecture
    • SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
    • Extensibility frameworks
  • Evaluate impacts of SAP upgrades, releases, and new technologies.

Operational Support

  • Provide L2/L3 technical support for SAP custom developments and integrations.
  • Support incident, problem, and change management processes following ITIL standards.
  • Participate in release activities, hypercare support, and production deployments.
  • Maintain technical documentation, interface inventories, and development standards.

What we’re looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of SAP technical consulting experience.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
    • ABAP on HANA
    • CDS Views
    • AMDP
    • Enhancements
    • BADIs
    • User Exits
    • SmartForms/Adobe Forms
  • Strong experience with:
    • IDoc
    • EDI
    • SAP CPI
    • SAP PI/PO
    • APIs
    • OData Services
    • Web Services
  • Technical Competencies
    • Knowledge of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA architecture.
    • Experience performing technical design reviews and code reviews.
    • Experience estimating SAP enhancements and managing technical backlogs.
    • Understanding of SAP integration patterns and enterprise architecture principles.
    • Exposure to SAP BTP and modern SAP integration technologies is preferred.
    • Understanding of SAP transport management and development lifecycle processes.
  • Leadership & Vendor Management
    • Experience working with AMS providers and system integrators.
    • Strong stakeholder management and vendor governance capabilities.
    • Ability to influence technical decisions across distributed global teams.
    • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Relevant Certifications Preferred
